Why Are Remedial Driving Courses Important?

Drivers who have had their driver's license suspended due to too many points, driving a vehicle under the influence (OVI), or FRA suspensions likely need to participate in a remedial driving course. There are a variety of reasons why remedial driving courses are essential for drivers. Not all suspended licenses require a course for reinstatement, but it can expedite the process if it isn't required by law. In today's blog post, Bick's Driving School examines why remedial driving courses are vital to success.

Driver's License Reinstatement

The most important reason why a driver with a suspended driver's license needs to take a remedial driving course is to have it reinstated. At Bick's Driving School, we offer a two-point program twice a month that will re-certify your driver's license. These courses are for all individuals who have had their licenses suspended because of high point accumulation, an OVI charge, or financial irresponsibility such as driving without insurance.

Easy Course Schedule

Another benefit to remedial driving courses through Bick's Driving School is our easy and flexible course schedule. Bick's offers courses two Saturdays each month. These courses run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with two 15-minute breaks and one 30-minute lunch break. This course schedule makes it easy for you to get your license back quickly and easily without having to attend several individual courses. You also don't have to miss work during the week. Plus, you complete the course in just hours.

Two-Point Credit

With suspended licenses, you earn two-point credit remedial driving courses even if you took a course less than two years ago when your driver's license wasn't suspended. Drivers in Ohio may take remedial driving courses just once every three years and up to five times in a lifetime. Ohio could lift some of those restrictions if you have a suspended license and you need to finish a two-point credit course.
